Media Server
Real-Time Media Distribution and Local Control
The Quicklert Media Gateway facilitates the critical link between the Quicklert cloud infrastructure and your local network, ensuring low-latency audio and video broadcasts without compromising network security.
Operational Architecture
Cloud Coordination
The Quicklert Cloud Server manages scheduling and triggering of events via a secure HTTPS outbound connection initiated by the gateway.
Secure Inbound Access
The system employs a secure, outbound-initiated connection, eliminating the requirement to open potentially risky inbound firewall ports. The gateway initiates the secure handshake with the cloud, requiring incoming HTTPS access only from the Quicklert Cloud Server.
Local Distribution
The Media Gateway receives operational instructions and broadcasts high-bandwidth audio/video streams across the local network, thereby minimizing the utilization of external internet bandwidth.
Core Features
Localized Media Processing
Reduces broadcast latency and mitigates potential internet “chokepoints” during critical mass notification events.
Scalable Infrastructure Support
Provides simultaneous support for a diverse array of IP endpoints, including IP speakers, digital signage, and desktop alert mechanisms.
Encrypted HTTPS Tunneling
Ensures that all communication between the physical site and the Quicklert Cloud remains securely encrypted.
Technical Specifications
Protocols
HTTPS / WebSockets are utilized for control and command signaling, while RTP/RTSP are employed for local media transmission.
Security
Authentication is managed via secure API Key mechanisms.
Interoperability
The Gateway offers seamless integration with the Quicklert Cloud Server and local Quicklert IP endpoints, such as QBOX Speakers and ConnecTabs.
